My property is in Catalonia. Do I have to file with the Mossos d Esqua

For properties located in Catalonia, you are required to report your guest details to the Mossos d'Esquadra, which is the regional police force. Catalonia, along with the Basque Country, operates its own independent system for guest registration, rather than using the national SES.Hospedajes platform.

This means you do not need to file with SES.Hospedajes at all if your property is in Catalonia. A single filing with the Mossos d'Esquadra is sufficient and fulfils your legal obligations for guest registration in that region. The national system, SES.Hospedajes, is used for properties in the rest of Spain.

Your obligation to register guests remains the same as elsewhere in Spain, even though the system is different. You must still collect the required information from all guests, regardless of age, and submit it within 24 hours of their arrival. The specific details required are outlined in Royal Decree 933/2021, which applies across Spain, but the submission portal is regional for Catalonia.
